About
Dynatrace's own plugin for AI agents. It bundles Dynatrace's agent skills, which teach your agent to query, analyze and interpret Dynatrace data, with Dynatrace's hosted MCP server for live access to your environment. What its skills cover - DQL: syntax rules, common pitfalls and query patterns, loaded before any query is written - Services, distributed traces, logs, hosts, Kubernetes and real user monitoring - AWS, Azure and GCP resources, network devices and network flows - Problems and root cause analysis, alerting, forecasting and anomaly detection - Security events, runtime vulnerabilities and hunting for indicators of compromise - Setting up OneAgent and the Android, iOS, Flutter and React Native mobile agents - Dashboards, notebooks, platform costs and moving classic DQL to Smartscape The MCP server Dynatrace hosts it inside your environment, at https://<environment-id>.apps.dynatrace.com/platform-reserved/mcp-gateway/v0.1/servers/dynatrace-mcp/mcp. It can turn a question into a DQL query, explain a query in plain words, run DQL against your data in Grail, list active or closed problems, and answer general Dynatrace questions. How to install it In Claude Code, run claude plugin install dynatrace@claude-plugins-official. It's also in Cursor's marketplace, and the skills alone install with npx skills add dynatrace/dynatrace-for-ai. Before you start your agent, set DT_ENVIRONMENT to your environment's address and DT_PLATFORM_TOKEN to a Dynatrace platform token. Other agents can add the MCP server directly, with a bearer token or a confidential OAuth client. Good to know - It only reads what your token and your user are allowed to, and both need the MCP gateway's invoke and read permissions. - Dynatrace recommends platform tokens, since a token from an OAuth client is short-lived. - The skills give your agent knowledge only; live queries go through the MCP server or Dynatrace's dtctl CLI.
Once it’s added

“Did the latest deployment cause a performance regression?”
“Generate a daily standup report for my services.”
“Write a DQL query for error logs from the payment service in the last hour.”
“Which problems are active in my environment right now?”
