# Career Helper

> A career coach for your agent: research roles, tailor your CV for ATS, prep for interviews and track every application.

Career Helper is a Claude plugin with sixteen skills for job seekers at every stage, from graduates to late career. A guided coach called Tim works out where you are and runs the right skills in the right order, checking in between steps. Or call any skill yourself.

What you can do with it
- Research a company and role, rewrite your CV for applicant tracking systems (ATS), and write cover letters and supporting statements
- Produce an upload-ready CV PDF, checked for layout and a readable text layer
- Review your LinkedIn profile, headline and posts, and build a personal brand and bio library
- Prepare for interviews with a competency map and mock interviews, debrief afterwards, and brief your referees
- Find live roles on job boards and careers pages, rank a batch of postings against your profile, and track applications on a kanban board
- Plan a salary negotiation and compare offers
- Build an evidenced skills inventory with a gap analysis and learning plan
- Map organisations like your employer, with a weekly update on what changed
- Explore other paths: fractional and portfolio careers, starting a business, the public sector or charity work
- For non-executive directors and board governors: AI governance challenge questions, risk register entries and oversight structures

How it works
Each skill writes markdown files into your working folder, such as a research brief, a tailored CV, an interview prep pack and applications/tracker.md, so later sessions build on earlier ones. In Claude Cowork, /career-helper:weekly-update runs the tracker standup, follow-ups and market map update in one pass, and can go on a schedule.

How to install it
In Claude Code, run /plugin marketplace add Zal4DW/career-helper, then /plugin install career-helper@career-helper. In the Claude desktop app, add the marketplace Zal4DW/career-helper from GitHub and install Career Helper.

Good to know
- A community project by Paul Bratcher (Prosper AI Consulting), not an official Anthropic plugin.
- CV and cover letter work runs with guardrails against invented facts: it works only from what you give it.
- Job Scout says plainly that automated search misses roles behind logins, and can use a signed-in browser such as Claude in Chrome if you have one.
- Written in UK English, with guidance for UK, US, EU and APAC job markets, and an optional dyslexia-friendly mode.
