# Bitwarden Product Analyst

> Bitwarden's Claude Code agent that turns Confluence pages, Jira tickets and notes into requirements docs, and drafts release notes.

Bitwarden's own Claude Code plugin for product analysis, shared publicly in its ai-plugins repository. Its product-analyst agent reads the sources you point it at and writes a structured requirements document, and its skills extract requirements, break features into tasks and draft user-facing release notes. It's written for Bitwarden's own product team, so the documents follow Bitwarden's requirements template, plan names, client surfaces and security principles (P01 to P06).

What you can do with it
- Turn a Confluence product initiative page, a Jira ticket, a GitHub issue, a web page or local files into a requirements document
- Pull out functional, non-functional and security requirements with testable acceptance criteria
- Mark every gap as a TBD owned by PM, Design or Engineering, or answer it there and then when the agent asks
- Break a feature into phased tasks, noting when server changes have to land before client work
- Draft release notes for a release from its Jira release page and the #release Slack thread you paste in, keeping only changes users will notice

Whose data it uses
- Only what you give it. Jira and Confluence are read through Bitwarden Atlassian Tools, signed in with your own Atlassian API tokens; without that plugin, the agent asks you to paste the content instead.
- It also reads GitHub issues and web pages you link, files and folders on your machine, and text you paste. There's no Slack connection, so you paste the release thread yourself.
- It saves each requirements document as a Markdown file in the folder you started Claude Code from.

How to install it
In Claude Code, run /plugin marketplace add bitwarden/ai-plugins, then /plugin install bitwarden-product-analyst@bitwarden-marketplace, and restart Claude Code. For Jira and Confluence lookups, also install Bitwarden Atlassian Tools from the same marketplace.

Good to know
- It's Bitwarden's internal tooling. The template, vocabulary and release-notes rules are Bitwarden's, so outside Bitwarden it's a worked example of a spec-writing agent to adapt.
- Security sections draw on Bitwarden's security-engineer plugin when it's installed; otherwise the agent covers security within the standard sections.
