# Bird MCP

> Lets your agent send email, SMS and WhatsApp, verify recipients, set up domains and numbers, and check delivery in your Bird workspace.

Bird's own hosted MCP server for its communications platform. Your agent can send on every channel Bird runs (email, SMS, WhatsApp and voice), get those channels ready to send, and look around your workspace, with a browser sign-in and no API key.

What you can do with it
- Send email, SMS and WhatsApp messages, one at a time or in batches, and check their delivery status and events
- Read voice call legs and call statistics, and prepare an outbound voice call for a person to review and run (in preview)
- Send a one-time passcode to verify a recipient, check the code they enter, and fall back to another channel
- Add and verify email sending domains, claim and register SMS senders (including US 10DLC), and search for and buy phone numbers
- Write and preview email and WhatsApp templates, and manage email suppressions, dedicated IPs and IP pools
- Manage contacts, audiences and messaging preferences, and look up a phone number or email address before you send

How it connects
Bird hosts it at https://mcp.bird.com over Streamable HTTP. The first time, your browser opens Bird's consent screen: sign in, choose workspace or organization permissions and pick what to delegate. The token then refreshes on its own, and you can revoke it under Connected apps in your Bird profile. For agents that don't search tools themselves or limit how many tools a server may have, Bird also offers https://mcp.bird.com/dynamic, which shows just two tools: search finds the right Bird tool and execute runs it.

Good to know
- The hosted server leaves out file uploads and creating a new Bird account. Those need the local server, which runs as bird mcp inside the Bird CLI.
- Some tools send real messages, buy numbers or delete records. Bird marks destructive tools so your agent can ask before running them.
- Bird documents setup for ChatGPT, Claude, Muse and more, and its bird-ai plugin can add this server together with skills for the Bird CLI.
