# Atlassian Rovo MCP Server

> Lets your agent search, summarize and update your Jira work items, Confluence pages, Bitbucket pull requests and Loom videos.

Atlassian's own MCP server, hosted on Atlassian Cloud. It connects your agent to Jira, Confluence, Jira Service Management, Bitbucket, Compass, Loom and the wider Atlassian platform (Projects, Goals, Teams and the Teamwork Graph), so you can search, summarize and update your team's work in one conversation. It only reaches what you can already see in Atlassian, and respects your project and space roles.

What you can do with it
- Search Jira with JQL, read work items, and create, edit, comment on and move them through their workflow
- Create, start and close sprints, and manage versions and boards
- Read, search, create and update Confluence pages, live docs, whiteboards and comments
- Summarize Loom videos and meeting recordings, with their transcripts and action items
- Review Bitbucket pull requests, pipelines and deployments, and open, comment on or merge pull requests
- Look up Jira Service Management requests, alerts and who's on call
- Check the status of projects and goals, and post updates to them
- Search across Jira, Confluence and connected apps in plain words with Rovo search

How it connects
Atlassian hosts it at https://mcp.atlassian.com/v2/mcp. The first time your agent uses it, you sign in to Atlassian in your browser (OAuth 2.1). For automation, an organization admin can turn on API tokens, so you can send a personal API token or a service account key as a header instead.

The Claude plugin also installs Atlassian's skills: turning meeting notes into Jira tasks, breaking a Confluence spec into an Epic and tickets, triaging bug reports against existing issues, publishing status reports to Confluence, building sprint dashboards and searching your company's knowledge.

Good to know
- You need an Atlassian Cloud site. Bitbucket tools need a workspace linked to an organization, and Loom tools a Loom workspace linked to an Atlassian site.
- Admins choose which groups of tools are allowed. Deleting Jira items and changing Jira project settings stay off until an admin turns them on.
- Rather than load every tool up front, it shows the most-used ones and lets your agent find the rest when it needs them. MCP gateways can add ?tools=all to get the full list.
- Some calls, such as Rovo search and Teamwork Graph lookups, use your organization's Rovo credits.
- Every tool call is recorded in your organization's audit log.
