# Private Equity

> Anthropic's private equity plugin for Claude: source deals, screen CIMs, build diligence checklists, model returns and draft IC memos.

Anthropic's private equity plugin, part of its Claude for Financial Services collection. Its skills give Claude a deal team's way of working, from sourcing and screening through diligence and the investment committee to portfolio operations. Each skill turns on by itself when your request matches it, and each also runs as a slash command. It's built for Claude Cowork and Claude Code.

What you can do with it
- Source deals: find companies that fit your thesis, check Gmail and Slack for prior contact, and draft founder outreach for you to review (/source)
- Screen inbound CIMs, teasers and broker materials against your fund's criteria and get a one-page screening memo (/screen-deal)
- Build a due diligence checklist by workstream, with request lists, status tracking and red flags (/dd-checklist)
- Prepare for management presentations, expert calls and customer references with targeted questions (/dd-prep)
- Analyze unit economics: ARR cohorts, LTV/CAC, net retention and revenue quality (/unit-economics)
- Build IRR and MOIC sensitivity tables across entry multiple, leverage, exit multiple, growth and hold period (/returns)
- Draft an investment committee memo from your diligence findings, financials and deal terms (/ic-memo)
- Track portfolio companies against plan from their monthly or quarterly packages, with KPI variances and covenant checks (/portfolio)
- Plan value creation after close: 100-day priorities, KPI targets and an EBITDA bridge (/value-creation)
- Rank AI opportunities across your portfolio companies (/ai-readiness)

Data connectors
- This plugin bundles no data connectors of its own: its .mcp.json is empty. Its skills work from web search, files you add such as CIMs and financial packages, and connectors you already use, such as Gmail and Slack.
- Anthropic's README keeps the shared connectors in its Financial Analysis plugin and says to install that one first. Those connectors are Daloopa, Morningstar, S&P Global, FactSet, Moody's, MT Newswires, Aiera, LSEG, PitchBook, Chronograph, Egnyte and Box.
- Apart from Egnyte and Box, which connect your firm's own files, these are subscription data services. The README notes that MCP access may need a subscription or API key from each provider.
- As of late October 2026, the Financial Analysis plugin's connector file has an error in Anthropic's repository (an open issue), so those connectors don't load until it's fixed. This plugin's skills still work without them.

How to install it
In Claude Code, run claude plugin marketplace add anthropics/financial-services, then claude plugin install private-equity@claude-for-financial-services. In Cowork, open Settings, Plugins, Add plugin and paste the repository URL.

Good to know
- Its outputs are drafts for a qualified professional to review: Excel workbooks for checklists, returns and cohorts, and Word documents for memos.
- It never sends outreach emails without your approval.
- Anthropic says nothing in it is investment, legal, tax or accounting advice.
