# Financial Analysis

> Anthropic's core financial services plugin for Claude: build comps, DCF, LBO and 3-statement models, audit spreadsheets and QC decks.

Anthropic's core plugin in its Claude for Financial Services collection. Its skills give Claude an analyst's way of building models in Excel and checking decks, and the main ones also run as slash commands. Anthropic says to install it first, since the collection's other plugins build on it. It's built for Claude (Cowork) and Claude Code.

What you can do with it
- Comparable company analysis with operating metrics, trading multiples and statistical benchmarks (/comps)
- DCF valuation with a WACC build, projections, terminal value and sensitivity tables, informed by comps (/dcf)
- LBO models for private equity deals, filled into your template (/lbo)
- Populate and link a 3-statement model template: income statement, balance sheet and cash flow (/3-statement-model)
- Audit a model or sheet for broken formulas, hardcodes, balance sheet and cash tie-outs (/debug-model)
- Competitive landscape analysis and market positioning (/competitive-analysis)
- QC a pitch deck for number consistency, narrative and IB language, and refresh an existing deck with new numbers
- Clean messy spreadsheet data, and turn your firm's PowerPoint template into a reusable skill (/ppt-template)

Data connectors
- Its .mcp.json lists 12 hosted connectors: Daloopa, Morningstar, S&P Global (Kensho), FactSet, Moody's, MT Newswires, Aiera, LSEG, PitchBook, Chronograph, Egnyte and Box.
- The first ten are subscription financial data services, so you need your firm's subscription or an API key from each provider. Egnyte and Box connect your firm's own files and need an account there.
- As of October 2026, that .mcp.json has a JSON syntax error on GitHub (reported in issue #355 on anthropics/financial-services), so the connectors don't register when you install the plugin. Its skills and commands still work. Until it's fixed, add the connectors you subscribe to yourself.
- Without a data connector, its skills fall back to SEC filings and the files you share.

How to install it
In Claude Code, run claude plugin marketplace add anthropics/financial-services, then claude plugin install financial-analysis@claude-for-financial-services. In the Claude desktop app, open Customize, then Browse plugins, add a marketplace from GitHub with https://github.com/anthropics/financial-services, and install Financial analysis.

Good to know
- Models use live Excel formulas, not pasted values. Inside the Excel add-in it works on the open workbook; otherwise it writes an .xlsx file.
- Its outputs are drafts for a qualified professional to review. Anthropic says nothing in it is investment, legal, tax or accounting advice.
