# Amplitude MCP

> Lets your agent query your Amplitude analytics and build charts, dashboards, experiments and cohorts from plain-language asks.

Amplitude's own hosted MCP server. It gives your agent Amplitude's analytics, taxonomy and content as tools, so you can query product data and create or edit charts, dashboards, notebooks, experiments, cohorts, feature flags and metrics in plain words, without SQL or the Amplitude UI. It works with your own Amplitude permissions.

What you can do with it
- Search and read charts, dashboards, notebooks, experiments, cohorts, events and properties, or hand it any Amplitude URL
- Run ad-hoc event segmentation, funnel and retention queries, and render interactive charts
- Build and edit dashboards and notebooks, and comment on and share Amplitude content
- Create experiments, metrics and feature flags, and analyze experiment results
- Create cohorts and sync them to destinations such as Braze, Iterable or S3, after you confirm
- Find session replays and walk through what a user did
- Summarize customer feedback themes, review AI agent analytics, and check guides and surveys
- Manage your tracking plan: create, update, delete and restore events and properties, and work on tracking-plan branches
- Check data warehouse import sources, export destinations and job history

How it connects
Amplitude hosts it at https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp, or https://mcp.eu.amplitude.com/mcp if your data is in the EU. You sign in with OAuth, and it only reaches projects you can already see in Amplitude. It's in Claude's connectors directory and ChatGPT's plugins directory, and Amplitude documents setup for Claude Code, Cursor, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Replit, Lovable, Figma Make and Kiro too. Add ?discovery=progressive to the address to load tools on demand and use fewer tokens.

Good to know
- In ChatGPT it exposes a smaller, curated set of tools, without session replay or progressive discovery.
- Deleting events or properties takes two steps: your agent shows what will change and asks you to confirm.
- Admins can turn MCP access off for the whole organization, or use the Use MCP (read) and Use MCP (write) role actions to limit it project by project.
- It isn't for sending event data; use an Amplitude SDK or the HTTP V2 API for that.
- Amplitude also offers a plugin of skills for Claude Code, Cursor, Claude and Codex that builds on this server.

## Install

### ChatGPT

In ChatGPT on the web: Plugins → + → Add custom MCP server, then paste https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp under Connection. Business and Enterprise plans; Pro can add read-only servers.

### Claude

In Claude (web or desktop): Customize → Connectors → Add custom connector, then paste https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp

### Muse

In Muse: In a Muse chat, ask it to create a custom connector for the MCP server at https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp. Then tap Connect on the card it shows and sign in, or add your key.

### Grok Bot

In Grok Bot: In a chat with your Bot, say "Add this MCP server: https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp". It confirms the details with you and sets it up, and the tools are ready from your next message.

### Gemini

In Gemini: At gemini.google.com: Settings → Connected Apps → Add a custom app, then paste https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp

### Grok

In Grok on the web: At grok.com/connectors: New Connector → Custom, then enter https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp and sign in if it asks.

### GitHub Copilot

Add to VS Code: vscode:mcp/install?%7B%22name%22%3A%22amplitude-mcp%22%2C%22type%22%3A%22http%22%2C%22url%22%3A%22https%3A%2F%2Fmcp.amplitude.com%2Fmcp%22%7D

Copilot CLI:

```shell
copilot mcp add --transport http amplitude-mcp https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp
```

### Cursor

Add to Cursor: cursor://anysphere.cursor-deeplink/mcp/install?name=amplitude-mcp&config=eyJ1cmwiOiJodHRwczovL21jcC5hbXBsaXR1ZGUuY29tL21jcCJ9

Add to .cursor/mcp.json:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "amplitude-mcp": {
      "url": "https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

### Claude Code

Run in your terminal:

```shell
claude mcp add --transport http amplitude-mcp https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp
```

### Codex

Run in your terminal:

```shell
codex mcp add amplitude-mcp --url https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp
```

### Antigravity

Add to ~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "amplitude-mcp": {
      "url": "https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp"
    }
  }
}
```

### Gemini CLI

Run in your terminal:

```shell
gemini mcp add --transport http amplitude-mcp https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp
```

### Replit

In Replit: At replit.com/integrations, open MCP Servers → + Add MCP server, paste https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp (add any headers under Advanced settings), then click Test & save.

### OpenClaw

Run in your terminal:

```shell
openclaw mcp add amplitude-mcp --url https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp --transport streamable-http
```

If it needs a key or sign-in: For https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp, add --header NAME=value for each header it needs, or --auth oauth and then run openclaw mcp login amplitude-mcp.

### OpenCode

Run in your terminal:

```shell
opencode mcp add amplitude-mcp --url https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp
```

If it needs a key: For https://mcp.amplitude.com/mcp, add --header 'NAME=value' for each header it needs. Add --global to use it in every project.

### Hermes Agent
