# Alchemy MCP Server

> Lets your agent query Alchemy's blockchain APIs on Ethereum, Solana and many other chains: balances, prices, NFTs, transfers and traces.

Alchemy's own hosted MCP server for its blockchain APIs. Your agent signs in with your Alchemy account, picks one of your Alchemy apps, and can then make JSON-RPC calls and use Alchemy's data APIs on Ethereum, Base, Polygon, Arbitrum, Optimism, Solana, Starknet and many other networks.

What you can do with it
- Check balances, token holdings and transfer history for an address, on one chain or across several
- Look up current and historical token prices by symbol or contract address
- See which NFTs an address owns, with metadata, floor prices and spam checks
- Simulate a transaction's asset changes before it's sent, and trace or debug mined transactions
- Read Solana accounts, transactions and digital assets (DAS), including compressed NFTs
- Work with ERC-4337 account abstraction: gas estimates, UserOperation receipts and paymaster data
- Manage your Alchemy apps: list, create and update them, and change their allowlists

How it connects
Alchemy hosts it at https://mcp.alchemy.com/mcp over Streamable HTTP. The first time your agent uses it, you sign in with your Alchemy account through OAuth, so there's no API key to copy and nothing to install. Then ask your agent to select one of your Alchemy apps; the RPC and data tools run through that app.

Good to know
- Most tools only read data. The smart wallet tools can also prepare calls, request swap quotes and submit calls you have signed. Anything submitted acts on real assets, and onchain transactions can't be undone.
- The admin tools change your Alchemy account: they can create and rename apps and change their allowlists.
- It returns blockchain data; it doesn't give investment or financial advice.
- Alchemy's older local server, the @alchemy/mcp-server npm package, is retired. This hosted server replaces it.
